The gala held at Dushu Lake Theater in Suzhou Dushu Lake Sci-Edu Innovation District in SIP on Dec 4 demonstrated the district’s achievements in joining the efforts of local authorities, higher education institutions and enterprises to pursue integrated, innovative development.

Many teachers and students from universities, staff members of research institutes, representatives from enterprises and residents from local communities participated in the event.

Various performances including singing, dancing and poetry recitation were staged. For example, employees of LY.com, a Chinese on-line tourist service conglomerate, performed a dance inspired by intangible cultural heritage of Luzhi Town, an ancient town in Wuzhong District of Suzhou, showcasing its outcome in integrating local culture into tourism.

Students from SIP Institute of Vocational Technology staged a dance highlighting the vitality of traditional culture in the new era. The band from Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University performed “Every Breath You Take”, showing an open and inclusive attitude towards diverse cultures and arts.

Additionally, there were also performances jointly given by schools, companies and research institutions, conveying their expectations to enhance collaboration in the future to strive for better development together.
