Recently, InnowaveDX, a biotech company in SIP, received the approval for marketing its six respiratory pathogens nucleic acid detection kit which uses real-time fluorescent PCR method to test nucleic acids of six respiratory pathogens. This marks that the company has crafted a diversified product portfolio in respiratory infection detection.
The new detection kit can detect six critical pathogens in sputum, namely Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Acinetobacter baumannii, aiding in early diagnosis of pneumonia.
Utilizing efficient automated magnetic bead-based extraction and multiplex fluorescent PCR technology, detection using this kit delivers results about one hour after sampling, addressing the urgent clinical need for rapid pathogen identification.
Furthermore, the product can be used in combination with nucleic acid detection for 11 upper respiratory pathogens, thereby covering over 95% of pneumonia pathogens, including bacteria, viruses and mycoplasma. This provides a comprehensive and thorough testing solution for identifying mixed infections, facilitating the rational use of antimicrobial agents and helping reduce antibiotic misuse and the spread of drug-resistant bacteria.
